Pacing heaven awaits Kiwi-bred pacer in Entain slot for The Velocity

Exciting Victorian pacer He’s From Heaven is returning home to take the Entain slot in The Velocity, the new $500,000 3-year-old pacing slot race at Addington on 15 November.

The Jess Tubbs-trained winner of 8 of his 16 starts was bred in the South Island before heading to Australia as a 2-year-old last year.

With his trans-Tasman links, as well as his obvious talent, the son of Sweet Lou was an ideal option for the Entain slot, Cameron Rodger, Entain’s Managing Director – New Zealand, said.

“He’s been in great form throughout 2024, and he’ll be a very familiar name for Australian punters tuning in to this exciting day of racing on Show Day,” Rodger said.

“After our experience partnering with Jess with Better Eclipse in The Race by Grins, we’re jumping at the opportunity to tackle another big slot race with her and (driver) Greg Sugars.”

With Tubbs already bringing trotting superstar Just Believe and Better Eclipse, as well as talented former Kiwi trotter One Over All, to Addington, she is relishing the chance to give He’s From Heaven his shot at New Zealand’s top 3-year-olds alongside a partner like Entain, the operators of TAB, betcha and Trackside.

“We were lucky enough to have previously partnered with Entain for The Race by Grins so we were rapt to be approached to team up once again,” Tubbs said.

“Entain continues to make an enormous contribution toward the promotion and development of harness racing across Australasia and we are proud to be able to align our Larajay brand with them.

“He’s a versatile horse with plenty of ability and we think the track and style of racing should suit him,” Tubbs said.

He's From Heaven is booked to fly to New Zealand with the rest of the Larajay team on the night of October 29.
